1. Giáo án Tiếng anh lớp 4 năm học 2020 – 2021 Week 23 Tuesday , March 2nd 2020 ( Lớp 4A, 4B ) Period 87 UNIT 13: WOULD YOU LIKE SOME MILK? Lesson 3 (1,2,3) A.Objectives I/ Aims: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to pronounce the sounds of letters f and sh in the words beaf, leaf, dish, fish respectively. II/ Language contents: -Phonic: beaf, leaf, dish, fish -Sentence patterns: III/ Resources Teaching plan , English 4, workbook, pictures , chalk, board, crayons. B.Procedures: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities I.Warm-up: - Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson by Whole class calling two pairs of pupils to the board to play the game Food or drink? II. New lesson 1.Listen and repeat beaf, leaf, dish, fish - Tell pupils that they are going to practice saying the sounds of the letters f and sh in the words beaf, leaf, - Whole class dish, fish respectively. - First, put the letters f and sh on the board. Play the recording and ask pupils to repeat a few times. Then put the words beaf, leaf, dish, fish on the board, play the recording and ask Ss to repeat a few times. After that, write the sentences on the board. Play the recording a few times and let pupils say the sentences, paying attention to the target sounds. - Do choral and individual. Then write and say aloud. - Tell pupils that they are going to listen to two sentences and circle the correct words. - Whole class - Give them a few seconds to read the words in silence. - Play the recording once or twice for pupils to circle the words. Remind them to focus on the words with the - Individual sound f/sh while listening. Check as a class. Then give pupils time to make sentences with the circled words. - Call a few pupils to read aloud their sentences and correct their pronunciation, if necessary. Key: 1.a, 2.b, 3.a, 4.b. 3. Let’s chant Would you like some fish? - Introduce the chant and ask pupils to do a matching exercise before listening to the chant (You’re going to - Whole class chant about favorite food and drink) - Check answers as a class. Then have pupils repeat each line twice. - Divide the class into pairs or groups to sit opposite of each other and practice chanting and doing the actions. Go around offering help, if necessary. - Call two pairs to the front of the class to chant and do the actions. The rest of the class claps along the - Work in groups. rhythm. III. Lesson 3 (4,5,6) A.Objectives I/ Aims: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to read a passage about someone’s favourite food and drink in order to complete and write. II/ Language contents: - Sentence Patterns: - Vocabulary: vegetables, love, too, every day III/ Resources Teaching plan , English 4, workbook, pictures , chalk, board, crayons. B.Procedures: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities I.Warm-up - Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson by Whole class getting some pupils to act out the story in Lesson 2, Activity 1. II. New lesson 4. Read and complete - Tell pupils that they are going to read the text and - Whole class complete the table - Ask them to look at the text to find the information to fill the blanks. If necessary, get pupils to work in pairs or small groups. Check understanding. - Give pupils time to do the task independently. Go around offering help, if necessary. - Individual - Get them to swap their answers before checking as a class. Provide explanations to the answers, if necessary. Write about your favourite food and drink - Tell pupils that they are going to write about their favourite food and drink. - Whole class - Have pupils work in pairs or groups to discuss what they are going to write. Give them enough time to do the task independently. - Pair work - Get them to swap their answers before checking as a class. If there is time, ask one pupil to write the answer on the board. 6. Project - Tell pupils that they are going to interview their classmates about their favourite food and drink and then report the results to the class. - Whole class - Give them time to interview three of their classmates and fill the gaps in the table. - Get some pupils to do a demonstration in front of the class + Example: Here are the results of my interviews. II/ Language contents: -Vocabulary: tall, short, slim, old, young... -Sentence patterns: - What does he/she look like? - He is/She is .... III/ Resources Teaching plan , English 4, workbook, pictures , chalk, board, crayons. B.Procedures Teacher’s activities Students’ activities I.Warm-up: Ask pupils to bring a photo of their father/mother and talk about him/her (e.g his/her name, age, job Whole class and hobby). II. New lesson 1.Look, listen and repeat - Tell the class that they are going to read a story in which Phong asks Linda questions about her brother. - Whole class - Ask pupils to look at the four pictures to identify the charaters (Linda and Phong) and the context in which the language is used. Ask them questions such as Where are they? What are they doing? (In picture a, Linda is sitting at the computer and writing an e-mail to her brother, and Phong is standing nearby, In pictures b, c and d.
