Lesson 3 - Period 6 4.Read and answer. 5.Write about where you live. 6.Project. A. Objectives I. Aim By the end of the period, Ss will be able to develop their reading and writing skills and do the project well. II. Language focus Sentences patterns: Review. III. Resources student book (page 69), flash cards, posters, recordings. B. Procedures I. Warm up Greeting Ss recite the chant: “Which one is more ..?” II.Read and answer Tell the class that they are going to read the passage and answer the questions. Get them to read the questions and underline the keywords. Ask Ss to work in pairs. Give them the time to do the task. Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary. Get them to swap their answers before checking as a class. Keys: 1. She lives in Liverpool. 2. She often goes to King’s Lynn. 3. King’s Lynn is. 4. Liverpool is. 5. Things in Liverpool is more expensive than in King’s Lynn. II. Write about where you live. Tell the class that they are going to write about where they live. Ask them to discuss with their friends about what they are going to write. Tell them to focus on the places where they live and what these places are like. Give Ss time to do the task independently. Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary. Get them to swap their answers and then read their answers aloud. Key: Answers vary. IV. Project Tell the class that they are going to compare the place where they live with another place Ask them to work in groups to discuss and select a place to compare with their place. Develop: 4 skills. - Ss look after, solve problems and study themselves. - Studious and obedient students and love their friends. II. Language focus - Vocabulary: unit 16-20 - Sentence patterns: unit 16-20 IV. Resources: - Recording, tape and pictures, student’s book , Workbook V. Procedure Warm - up: Ss sing the songs 1. Listen and tick - T elicits the pictures. - T reads listening text. - Sts listen and tick pictures. - Some Ss call out the answers. - Others give comments. Keys: 1.b, 2.c. 2. Listen and number. Tell the class that they are going to listen and number the pictures. Ask Ss to guess the answers. Play the recording all the ways through for pupils to listen. Play it again for them to do the task. Get them to compare their answers before checking as a class. Play the recording a third time for them to listen again, if necessary. Keys: 1.b, 2.a, 3.d, 4.c. 3. Listen and complete Tell the class that they are going to listen and complete the sentences. Ask Ss to guess the answers. Play the recording all the ways through for pupils to listen. Play it again for them to do the task. Get them to compare their answers before checking as a class. Play the recording a third time for them to listen again, if necessary.
