1. Giáo án Tiếng Anh lớp 5 WEEK 29TH Monday, April 5th 2021 Period 111: Unit 16: Where’s the post office? Lesson 3 - Period 6 4.Read and do the tasks. 5.Write the directions. 6.Project. A. Objectives I. Aim By the end of the period, pupils will be able to develop their reading and writing skills and do the project well. II. Language focus Sentences patterns: Review. III. Resources student book (page 45), flash cards, posters, recordings. B. Procedures I. Warm up Greeting Ss recite the chant: How can we get there? II.Read and do the tasks 1. Label the places. Tell the class that they are going to read the passage and label the places on the map. Get them to read the passage and check their comprehension. Explaining the meaning of unfamiliar words. Give them the time to do the task. Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary. Get them to swap their answers before checking as a class. Keys: 1.bus stop, 2.Pear steet, 3.Pharmacy, 4.Tony’s house. 2. Answer the questions Tell Ss that they are going to answer the questions of the text. Ask Ss to read the questions and underline the words. Give them the time to do the task. Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary. Get them to swap their answers before checking as a class. Keys: 1/ She should take bus Number 12 2/ She should get off at the fifth stop. 3/It’s Pear street. 4/A pharmacy is opposite his house. 5/It’s green. II. Write the directions Tell the class that they are going to write the directions, using the map. Have them the time to read the map and the questions. Lesson 1 - Period 1 1.Look, listen and repeat. 2.Point and say. 3.Let’s talk. A. Objectives I. Aims: By the end of the period, Ss will be able to ask and answer questions about what someone would like to eat or drink, using What would you like to eat/drink? I’d like ., please. II. Language focus Sentence patterns: What would you like to eat/drink? I’d like ., please. Vocabulary: a packet of biscuits, a carton of ., a bowl of .. III. Resources: book (page 46), CD player, cassette, cards, posters. B. Procedures I. Warm up - Greeting. - Ask Ss to show their maps and give directions. II. Look, listen and repeat Whole class: have ss turn their books to page 46. Focus their attention on the pictures and ask them to identify the characters in the pictures. Point to each picture and ask: who is this? Tell ss that they are going to listen to the dialogue between a lady and Nam, Mai. They are in the school canteen, ordering food and drink. Use a poster and two puppets to present the situation. Play the recording again all the way through for ss to listen. Play the recording again for ss to repeat each line in the speech bubbles as they point to it. Have one ss repeat Lady’s part, and the other Nam, Mai’s part. Repeat the step, but this time have the group swap their parts. Have the whole class repeat all the phrases a few times to reinforce their pronunciation. III. I’d like ., please. Elicit the phrases: a paket of biscuits, a bar of chocolate, a carton of lemonade. Model the task with the whole class: Point to picture a and ask: What would you like to eat? Ss answer: I’d like a packet of biscuits. Repeat the step with some other pairs for the rest pictures Have ss practise using the pictures in their books. Monitor the activity and offer help. Correct pronunciation error(s) when necessary. Call on some perform the task at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments Have the whole class repeat all the phrases in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation. IV. Lesson 1 - Period 2 4.Listen and tick. 5.Read and complete. 6.Let’s sing. A. Objectives I. Aims: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to further practise in asking and answering questions about what someone would like to eat or drink, by doing a listening and a reading task. II. Language focus Sentence patterns: What would you like to eat/drink? I’d like ., please. Vocabulary: a packet of biscuits, a carton of ., a bowl of .. III. Resources: book (page 47), CD player, cassette, cards, posters. I. Warm up - Greeting. - Ss ask and answer questions about what they want to eat and drink. II. Listen and tick Whole class: have ss turn their books to page 47. Tell Ss that they are going to listen to the recording and tick the correct pictures. Ask them to look at the pictures to identify the foods and drinks.Check their understanding. Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen, as they look closely at the pictures in their books. Play the recording again for Ss to listen and tick correct boxes. Tell Ss that they are going to read the passage and fill in the gaps with: food, healthy, eat, sandwich and lunch.. Give Ss a few seconds to read the text and asks them to fill in the gaps with the words given. Give time to do the task independently. Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary. Have them swap their answers and correct them in group before checking as a class. Key: 1.lunch. 2.sandwich 3.food 4.healthy 5.eat IV. Let’s sing Tell ss that they are going to sing a new song “Healthy eating and drink” Play the recording all the way through for ss to listen while they are reading the song. Play the recording again for ss to repeat each line of the rhyme. Have ss point to the words while they are repeating. Have Ss repeat each line of the song, the other clap the rhythm. Repeat the step, but this time have ss swap their parts. Ss practise singing and doing the actions in groups, Monitor the activity and offer help. Correct pronunciation error(s) when necessary. Call on some groups to perform the song at the front of the class. Procedures I. Warm up - Greeting. - Ss sing the song “Healthy eating and drink” II. Look, listen and repeat Whole class: have ss turn their books to page 48. Focus their attention on the pictures and ask them to identify the characters in the pictures. Point to each picture and ask: who is this?
