1. Giáo án Tiếng Anh lớp 5 WEEK 27TH Monday, March 22nd 2021 Period 103: Review 3 (p3) A. Objectives I. Aim By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to read, listen to and understand a short story. II. Language focus Sentences patterns: Review. III. Resources student book (page 39), flash cards, posters, recordings. B. Procedures I. Warm - up: - Greeting. - Ss call out some stories they like reading. I. Read and listen to the story Tell Ss that they are going to read and listen to the story. Set a time limit for them to read the story. After Ss read the story, ask them some questions: Where are Chit and Miu? What’s the matter with Miu? What’s the Miu going to do with Maurice and Doris? Where’s Maurice? What’s the matter with him? Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen and follow in their books. Play it again for them to listen and repeat. II.Answer the questions Tell Ss that they are going to answer the questions about the story. Give them the time to look at the story again, then read the questions and answers them in pairs. Check comprehension and give feedback. Call out some pairs to say the answers aloud. Keys: 1.No, he isn’t. 2.He has a headache, stomachache and a fever. 3.He’s going to the zoo with Maurice and Doris. 4.No, they can’t. 5.He can stay in bed. III. Unscramble these words from the story. Tell Ss that they are going to put the letters in the correct order and write the words from the conversation in Activity 1. Do the first word as example. Give them the time to do the task. Give the first letters of the words, if necessary. Get Ss to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. Keys: a.headache b.terrible c.speaking d.because e.meat. II/ Read and complete -T tells the context and completes the sentences. - Give a few seconds for Ss to read and look at the pictures. - Check comprehension and elicit the words to fill the gaps. - Ask Ss do the task. - Check their answers. - Do choral and individual repetition. Key:1/ well, 2/ matter, 3/ have, 4/ stay, 5/ not III/ Work in pairs. Talk about your school Sports Day - T asks Ss do the task for 5 minutes. T goes around for help, if necessary. - T calls some Ss go to the board and write down their answers. The others give comment. - T gives feedback Ss’s own answers IV/ Read and match - Tell Ss that they’re going to read the sentences on the lefl and pair them with those on the right by drawing a line between them. - Give Ss time to do the task. - Get Ss to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. - Have a few pairs act out the dialogues.
