1. Giáo án Tiếng Anh lớp 4 WEEK 32ND Thursday, April 29th 2021 Period 123: Unit 18: WHAT’ YOUR PHONE NUMBER? Lesson 3: 4 – 5 – 6 I. Aims : By the end of the lesson, Ps will be able to use the words and phrases related to the topic: Outdoor activities. Skills: - Develop Ps writing skill. Language focus: - Vocabulary and structures: review Teaching aids: Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. II. Procedures: Warm up Let’s say the chant “ I’d like to invite you to my party”. 4. Read and tick. - Tell the class that they are going to read the text about Tom’s picnic with his family, decide whether the five statements are true of false and tick the correct answers. - You may get Ps to read the sentences under the text and guess which sentence is true and which one is false. - Give Ps time to do the task independently. - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary. - Get them to swap their answers before checking as a class. - Ask some questions about the text to check their understanding. ( Where does Tom have picnics with his family ? What does Tom like doing?) Key : 1.F 2.T 3.F 4.T 5.T 5. Let’s write. - Tell the class that they are going to complete a short paragraph about themselves. - Have Ps work in pairs or groups to discuss what they are going to write in the gaps of the sentences. Focus them on where they usually go on Sundays and what they want to do there. - Give Ps time to do the task independently. Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary. - Get them to swap their answers before checking as a class. Key : Ps’ own answers 5. Project. - Tell Ps that they are going to ask four classmates for their phone numbers, and then report the results to the class. - Give each P a card and ask them to copy the table from the P’s Book on their cards. - Give Ps time to ask their classmates for their phone numbers and write them down. Lesson 1 - Period 1 1.Look, listen and repeat. 2.Point and say. A. Objectives I. Aims: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to ask and answer questions about what animals someone want to see, using What animals do you want to see?I want to see .. II. Language focus Sentence patterns: What animals do you want to see? I want to see .. Vocabulary: monkeys, kangaroos, crocodiles, tigers, elephants. III. Resources: book (page 58), CD player, cassette, cards, posters. B. Procedures I. Warm up - Greeting. - Ss call out the names of animals they know in English. II. Pre- task Tell Ss that they are going to read a story in which Mai and Nam visit the zoo. Ask them to look at the four pictures to identify the characters, the context in which the language is used. Ask questions such as Who are they? Where are they? And What are they talking about? Help them to identify that Mai and Nam are standing in the street and they want to go to the zoo. Play the recording more than once, if necessary, for pupils to listen and reapeat. Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking. III.While - task Tell pupils that they are going to practice asking and answering questions about what animals someone want to see, using What animal do you want to see?I want to see .. Ask pupils to practise in pairs, using the prompts in the bubbles and the phrases under the pictures. Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary. Select some pairs to demonstrate the task in front of the class. IV.Post - task T asks Ss about what they have leanrt in their lesson today. T analysises the language focus: ask and answer questions about someone’s desire, using What animals do you want to see?I want to see .. Vocabulary: monkeys, kangaroos, crocodiles, tigers, elephants. Lesson 1 - Period 2 4.Listen and match. 5.Look and write. 6.Let’s play. A. Objectives I. Aims: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to further practise asking and answering questions about what animals someone want to see by doing a listening and a writing task. II. Language focus Sentence patterns: What animals do you want to see?/I want to see .. Vocabulary: monkeys, kangaroos, crocodiles, tigers, elephants. III. Resources: book (page 59), CD player, cassette, cards, posters. B. Procedures I. Warm up - Greeting. - Play a game: Who am I? II.Listen and match Tell Ss that they are going to listen to three dialogues about what animals Tony, Tom and Linda want to see and match each character to the corrcet picture. Ask Ss to look at the pictures and identify the characters and animals. Check understanding. Guides Ss how to do the task. T plays the recording twice. Tell Ss that they should focus on the names of the shops. Calls some Ss come to the board and write the answer. Plays the recording again T checks the answer. Key: 1.c, 2.a, 3b. III. Look and write. Give them afew seconds to look at the four pictures and identify what animal the children want to see in each picture (1.crocodiles, 2.Monkeys, 3.Kangaroos, 4.Tigers). Draw their attention to the different pronouns he,she and they in the questions. Ask Ss to do the task. Go around and offer help, if necessary. Have Ss trade the answers in pairs for correction Call on some Ss to report their answers. Others listen and comment. Have the whole class read each sentence in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation Answers: 1.He wants to see crocodiles. 2.She wants to see monkeys. 3.They want to see kangaroos. 4.They want to see Tigers. IV.Let’s play Tell pupils that they are going to play the Game Charades Show a student the name of a zoo animal. That student must act out the animal for the rest of the class to guess. The quickest student to say the name of the animal gets a point. Then select another student to mime another animal. The student who gets the most points at the end of the game is winner. Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary. Aims: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to express reasons, using I like ..because ../ I don’t like because .. II. Language focus Sentence patterns: I like ..because ../ I don’t like because .. Vocabulary: scary, fast. III. Resources: book (page 60), CD player, cassette, cards, posters. B. Procedures I. Warm up - Greeting. - Play the game: Charades. II. Pre- task Tell Ss that they are going to read a conversation in which Linda and Nam ask and answer questions about zoo animals. Ask them to look at the four pictures to identify the context in which the language is used. Ask questions such as Who are they? Where are they? And What are Năm học 2020 - 2021 4

Point to the first picture and model the task with one pupil, using the question and the answer in the bubbles and the pharse under under picture a. Teacher: I do’t like tigers because they are scary. Ask Ss to repeat the sentences chorally and individually. Repeat the same procedure with the rest of the pictures. Ask pupils to practise in pairs, using the prompts in the bubbles and the phrases under the pictures. Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary. Select some pairs to demonstrate the task in front of the class. *Talking in pairs using: 1. What animal do you want to see?
