1. Giáo án Tiếng Anh lớp 4 WEEK 26TH Thursday, March 18th 2021 Period 99: Unit 15: When’s Children’s Day? Lesson 3 - Period 5 4. Listen and repeat. 5. Listen and write. 6. Let’s chant. A. Objectives: I. Aims: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to pronounce the sounds of the letters cl and fl in the words clothes, close, flowers and floor respectively. II. Language focus Sounds of words. III. Resources: book (page 34), CD player, cassette, cards, posters. B. Procedures I. Warm up - Greeting. - Ss play the game: Physical line - up. II.Listen and repeat Tell Ss that they are going to practise saying the sounds of the cl and fl in the words clothes, close, flowers and floor respectively. First, put the letters cl and fl on the board. Play the recording and ask Ss to repeat a few times. Put the words clothes, close, flowers and floor on the board. Play the recording and ask pupils to repeat a few times. After that draw their attention to the pronunciations of letters cl and fl . Then put the four sentences on the board. Play the recording more than once and let pupils say the sentences. Do choral and individual repetition of the sounds, words and sentences until pupils feel confident. Get some Ss to perform in front of the class. Check as a class and correct the pronunciation, if necessary. III.Listen and write.Then and say aloud. Tell Ss that they are going to listen to the recording and write the correct answers. Give them a few seconds to read the sentences in silence and guess the words. Play the recording more than once, if necessary, for pupils to listen and circle the words. Have pupils swap their answers before checking as a class. Then ask Ss to read the sentences aloud. Key: 1.flowers 2.close. 3.clothes 4.floor. IV.Let’s chant Tell pupils that they are going to say the chant What do you do at Tet?. Follow the procedure in Teaching the unit components in introduction. Have them read the chant and check comprehension. Get pupils to sit opposite of each other and practise chanting and doing actions. Go around offering help, if necessary. Call some groups to the front of the class to chant and do actions. The rest of the class claps along to the rhythm. Lesson 3 - Period 6 4.Read and write. 5.Write about your Tet. 6. Project. A. Objectives: I. Aims: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to use words and phrases related to Tet festival to do reading and writing tasks and do a project well. II. Language focus Review III. Resources: book (page 35), CD player, cassette, cards, posters. B. Procedures I. Warm up - Greeting. - Read the “What do you do at Tet?” chant. II. Read and write. Tell Ss that they are going to red the text about Tet and complete the sentences. Give a few minutes for Ss to read the text. Check comprehension . Tell them that they have to read the incomplete sentences under the text and focus on the information needed to fill in. Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary Have Ss trade the answers in pairs for correction Call on some Ps to report their answers. Others listen and comment. Have the whole class read each sentence of the paragraph in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation. Answers: 1. Tet 2.flowers 3.their house, banh chung. 4.the firework displays 5.their grandparents and, teachers and friends. III. Write about your Tet. Introduce the activity by saying: You are going to write a short paragraph about Tet. Maybe use the information in activity 4. Have them to work in pairs or groups to discuss what they they do at Tet. Focus on the things they do before Tet and during Tet. Check comprehension. Give Ss the time to do the task. T goes around and offers help. Get them to swap their answers before checking as a class. Ask Ps to read the answers aloud to the class. The others listen and give comments. Năm học 2020 - 2021 2

Explain the task and check their understanding. Give each student a small card and some colour pencils. Ask them to draw a card for Tet. After decorating the cards, they should fill in the information. Give Ss the time to do the task. T goes around and offers help. Get them to swap their answers before checking as a class. Call some of them to the front of the class and read aloud what their partner have written. Eg: To: Quoc Anh Wishes: Happy New Year! Have fun at Tet! Aims: By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to: Listen and identify specific information related to theme Me and my family. Read and identify specific information related to theme Me and my family. II.Language focus Review III. Resources: book (page 36), CD player, cassette, cards, posters. B. Procedures I. Warm up - Greeting. - Brainstorm game Flowers What we have banh chung for Tet new clothes II. Listen and number. - Guide Ss to look the pictures - Ss look at the pictures in part 4(p36). Identify someone’s physical appearance, what they doing in each picture, some food, drink, guess. - Listen twice and tick the pictures. Check their guess. The rest of the class give comments. - Correct IV. Read and match. - T introduces the topic - Ss look at the sentences in the book - Ss read and work individually. Ss do the task (match the sentence with a appropriate picture.) - Compare the answer with the partner. - Ss report their answers, the other give the comment. Read and identify specific information related to theme Me and my family. II.Language focus Review III. Resources: book (page 37), CD player, cassette, cards, posters. B. Procedures I.
