1. Giáo án Tiếng Anh lớp 4 WEEK 27TH Thursday, March 25th 2021 Period 103: Review 3 (p3) I. Aims: By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to read, listen to and understand a story. II.Language focus Vocabulary: about Cat and Mouse III. Resources: book (page 38), CD player, cassette, cards, posters. B. Procedures I. Warm up - Greeting. - Play a game: Whisper with the words of jobs and locations II.Read and listen to story. Then fill the gaps Tell Ss that they are going to read and listen to the story and fill in the gap. Ask Ss to look at the picture and ask them who are in the pictures? ( Miu, Mary and Mimi). Then asks some questions ralated to the pictures of the story. Ss read the story in individual. Then guess words to fill in the gaps. Ss look at the picture carefully & listen to the tape. Ss look & read silently the dialogue. Then complete the dialogue in individual. Ss trade their answers in pairs for correction. Call Ss to read the answers Paly the recording again for Ss to check their answers. Keys: 1.works 2.plays 3.taller 4.do 5.beach. III. Ss retell the story. Ss work in pairs to retell the story using the picture cues. Ss give them the time to do the task. Call some pairs to retell in front of the class. IV. Give time for Ss to do the task. Ask them to try ordering the sentences without looking at the story. Ss trade their answers in pairs for correction. Call some Ss to read their answers. T corrects. 1, 6, 3, 2, 8, 7, 4, 5. Ask a few pairs to role play the dialogue. III.Work in pairs. Complete the conversation with information about you. Tell Ss that they are going to look at the questions and write the answers. Give them a few seconds to read the questions and check comprehension. Ask Ss to work in pairs and give them time to do the task. Ss trade their answers in pairs for correction. Ask a few pairs to read aloud the dialogue. IV.Find words in the story to complete the sentences Tell Ss that they are going to read the sentences and find words in the story to complete them. Give Ss afew seconds to read the sentences in silence. Check comprehension and elicit the words to fill in the gaps. Give them time to do the task. Ss trade their answers in pairs for correction. Teaching methods: - Communicative approach. - Techniques: Ask and answer (say individually);Work in pairs/ groups;Discuss. III. Aims: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to make and respond to suggestions to go somewhere, using Let’s go to the and Great idea /Sorry, I’m busy. II. Language focus Sentence patterns: Let’s go to the Great idea /Sorry, I’m busy. Vocabulary: bakery, pharmacy, supermarket, sweetshop, medicine, chocolate. III. Resources: book (page 40), CD player, cassette, cards, posters. B. Procedures I. Warm up - Greeting. - Ss call out the names of some places they often go. II. Pre- task Tell Ss that they are going to learn about making suggestions to go some where and responding to the suggestions. Ask them to look at the four pictures to identify the context in which the language is used. Ask questions such as Who are they? Where are they? And What are they talking about? Help them to identify that Phong makes a suggestion to go to the bookshop and Mai agrees to go with him. (Great idea) Play the recording more than once, if necessary, for pupils to listen and reapeat. Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking. III.While - task Tell pupils that they are going to practice making suggestions to go somewhere and responding to suggestions. Have them look at the bubbles and the pictures to understand how the language is used. Ask them to look at the four pictures to identify the places. Point to the first picture and model the task with one pupil, using the words given and the answers in the bubbles and the phrase under the picture. Teacher: Klet’s go to the bakery. I want some bread. Ask Ss to say the answer: Great idea/ Sorry, I’m busy. chorally and individually. Repeat the same procedure with the rest of the pictures. Ask pupils to practise in pairs, using the prompts in the bubbles and the phrases under the pictures. Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary. Select some pairs to demonstrate the task in front of the class. IV.Post - task T asks Ss about what they have leanrt in their lesson today.
