1. Giáo án Tiếng Anh lớp 4 WEEK 28TH Thursday, April 1st 2021 Period 107: Unit 16: Let’s go to the bookshop. Lesson 1 - Period 2 4.Listen and tick. 5.Look and write. 6.Let’s sing. A. Objectives I. Aims: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to further practise making suggestions to go some where and responding to the suggestions by doing a listening and a writing task. II. Language focus Sentence patterns: Let’s go to the Great idea /Sorry, I’m busy. Vocabulary: bakery, pharmacy, supermarket, sweetshop, medicine, chocolate III. Resources: book (page 41), CD player, cassette, cards, posters. B. Procedures I. Warm up - Greeting. - Play a game: Bingo.(bookshop, sweetshop, supermarket, bakery, pharmacy, school, park, zoo, cinema ..) II.Listen and tick Tell Ss that they are going to listen to two dialogues about and tick the correct pictures. Ask Ss to look at the pictures and identify the shops and objects. Check understanding. Guides Ss how to do the task. T plays the recording twice. Tell Ss that they should focus on the names of the shops. Calls some Ss come to the board and write the answer. Plays the recording again T checks the answer. Key: 1.b, 2.a, 3.a, 4.b. III. Look and write. Tell Ss that they are going to complete the sentences using the pictures cues. Give them afew seconds to look at the pictures and identify the places. Ask them to read the example. Ask Ss to do the task. Go around and offer help, if necessary. Have Ss trade the answers in pairs for correction Call on some Ss to report their answers. Others listen and comment. Have the whole class read each sentence in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation Answers: 1.to the bakery, buy some cakes/bread.. 2.to the sweetshop, buy some sweets.. 3.to the pharmacy, buy some medicine. 2. Giáo án Tiếng Anh lớp 4 IV.Let’s sing Tell pupils that they are going to sing the song “Let’s go ”. Teach the song, following the procedure in Teaching the unit components in Introduction. First, have pupils read each line of the lyrics aloud. Do choral and individual repetition and check comprehension. Then, play the recording all the way through. Ask pupils to do choral and individual repetition of the song line by line. When Ss are familiar with the tune, ask two groups of pupils to the front of the class. One group sings the questions and the other sings the answers. Have the rest of the class sing together and clap hands. Lesson 2 - Period 3 1.Look, listen and repeat. 2.Point and say. 3.Let’s talk. A. Objectives I. Aims: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to ask for and give reasons for going somewhere, using Why do you want to go to the .? Because I want to II. Language focus Sentence patterns: Why do you want to go to the .? Because I want to Vocabulary: swimming pool, see the animals, see a film. III. Resources: book (page 42), CD player, cassette, cards, posters. B. Procedures I. Warm up - Greeting. - Ss sing the song: “Let’s go .”. II. Pre- task Tell Ss that they are going to find out about how to ask for and give reasons for going somewhere. Ask them to look at the four pictures to identify the context in which the language is used. Ask questions such as Who are they? Where are they? And What are they talking about? Help them to identify that Tony is making a suggestion to go to the zoo with Linda and Mai. Check comprehension. Play the recording more than once, if necessary, for pupils to listen and reapeat. Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking. III.While - task Tell pupils that they are going to practice asking for and giving reasons for going somewhere, using Why do you want to go to the .? Because I want to Have them look at the bubbles and the pictures to understand how the language is used. Ask them to look at the pictures to identiy the places and the reasons for them to go there. Teacher: Why do you want to go to the zoo? Ss: Because I want to see the animals. Ask Ss to say question and the answer chorally and individually. Repeat the same procedure with the rest of the pictures. Ask pupils to practise in pairs, using the prompts in the bubbles and the phrases under the pictures. Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary. Select some pairs to demonstrate the task in front of the class. *Talking in pairs using: 1. Let’s go to the..... 2. Why do you want to go to the....? IV.Post - task T asks Ss about what they have leanrt in their lesson today. T analysises the language focus: ask for and give reasons for going somewhere, using Why do you want to go to the .? Because I want to Vocabulary: swimming pool, see the animals, see a film. Lesson 2 - Period 4 4.Listen and circle. 5.Look and write. 6.Let’s play. A. Objectives I. Aims: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to further practice asking for and giving reasons for going somewhere by doing a listening and a writing task. II. Language focus Sentence patterns: Why do you want to go to the .? Because I want to Vocabulary: swimming pool, see the animals, see a film. . III. Resources: book (page 43), CD player, cassette, cards, posters. B. Procedures I. Warm up - Greeting. - Ss play the game: Ball toss. II.Listen and circle Tell Ss that they are going to listen to four dialogues and circle the correct words. Ask Ss to read each of the incomplete sentences and guess the words to fill in the gaps. Check understanding. Guides Ss how to do the task. T plays the record twice for Ss to listen and circle the answer. Introduce the activity to the class. They are going to look at the pictures and write the questions to the answers, using the pictures cues. Have them look at the questions and identify the places they want to go . Then have them look at the four pictures and write why they want to go to the places. Ask Ss to do the task. Have Ss trade the answers in pairs for correction Call on some Ss to report their answers. Others listen and comment. Have the whole class read each sentence in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation Answers: 2.She wants to buy some pens and books. 3.They want to play football and badminton. IV. Let’s play Tell Ss that they are going to play Where and White to practise suggestion places to go and giving reasons. Devide the class Play game in 2 groups. Ss look at some pictures of public places. Prepare pieces of paper with names of places and put them into a box. Divide the class into groups of three. Ask two groups to go the front. Group 1 should draw a slip of paper from the box and say Let's go to the... Group 2 should ask Why do you want to go to the...? Group 1 then answers Because we want to... After that, the two groups swap roles. Then invite another two groups of pupils to the front and continue. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Friday, April 2nd 2021 Period 110: Unit 16: Where’s the post office? Lesson 3 - Period 5 1.Listen and repeat. 2.Listen, circle and write. 3.Let’s chant. I. Aims: By the end of the lesson, Ps will be able to understand what a syllable is and how to divide words into syllables. Skills: Develop Ps writing and listening skills Language focus: - Vocabulary and structures: Review - Phonics: book, bookshop, bakery, supermarket. Teaching aids: Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. II . Procedures: Warm up: Năm học 2020 - 2021 4

Listen and repeat Tell the class that they are going to practice saying words with one, two, three and four syllables (book, bookshop, bakery, supermarket). First, explain to Ps what a syllable is. Then put the four target words on the board, using vertical lines to divide the syllables. Open the tape and have the Ps listen the sound of the words. Play the recording a few times for pupils to listen and repeat. Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking. Put more words on the board, indicating the syllables with vertical lines. Ask Ps to repeat the words after you and clap at each syllable. (Ex: to/ge/ther, good, go, want, part/ner, ci/ne/ma, a/ni/mal, film, be/cause, bread, gym, mo/ther, fa/ther. 2. Listen, circle and write. Then say aloud Tell Ps that they are going to listen to the recording, circle the correct options and write the answer to complete the sentences. Ask them to read the sentences in silence and guess the words to fill the gap. Play the recording for Ps to listen, circle and write the words. Play the recording again so they can check their answers. Have Ps trade the answers in pairs for correction. Call on some Ps to report their answers. Others listen and comment. Have the whole class read each sentence in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation Key: 1.a 2.b 3.a 4.b 3. Let’s chant Tell Ps that they are going to say the chant “Why do you want to ?” Have Ps read then chant and check comprehension. Play the recording a few times for Ps to do choral and individual repetition. Show them how to chant and do actions. Put the class into two groups to practice chanting and doing actions. Each of the groups should sing one verse of the chant. Go around and offer help, if necessary. Call two pairs to the front of the class to chant and do actions.
