1. Gi¸o ¸n TiÕng Anh líp 4 WEEK 29TH Thursday, April 8th 2021 Period: 111 Unit 16: LET’S GO TO THE BOOKSHOP Lesson 3: 4 – 5 - 6 I. Aims: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to read and write about give reasons for going somewhere. Skills: - Develop Ss reading, writing skills . Language focus: - Vocabulary and structures: Review Teaching aids: Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. II . Procedures: Warm up: Slap the board 4 . Read and number. - Tell the class that they are going to read the text and number the pictures. - First, ask Ps to look at the pictures and describe them . ( in Picture a, Phong and Mai are at the zoo. Phong is looking at the tiger. In Picture b, they are buying bread / cakes at the bakery . In Picturec, they are at the pharmacy . In Picture d, they are reading at the bookshop .). After that, have them read the text and put the pictures in the correct order. If necessary, get them to work in pair or small groups. Teach the words/ phrases first, then, after that and finally. - Give them time to do the task independently. Go around and offer help, if necessary. - Get Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. Key : a3 b4 c2 d1 Language note : first, then, after that and finally are used to show the order of actions. First is used to introduce the first action in a siries . Then and after that are used to introduce the next action(s). Finally is used to introduce the last action. 5 . Look and write. - Tell Ss that they are going to write sentences about the characters want to go and why they want to go there. - Have them work in pairs or groups to discuss what they are going to write. Ask them to look at the first picture and given sentence as an example. Then they should identify the places in the pictures and think of the reasons for going there. - Give them time to do the task independently. Go around and offer help, if necessary. - Get Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. Key : 2. Explain the activity and chec understanding. - Give each of them a card . Ask them to copy the table from the P’s Book onto their cards. - Give them time to interview their classmates. They should ask the interviewees where they want to go on Sunday and why they want to go there, using Where do you want to go ? Why do you want to go there ? and complete the table. Get Ps to swap their cards in pairs. They shouls look at their partners’ cards and tell the class about the interviewees’ Sunday plans. Confirm with the interviewees whether what was said about them is correct. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thursday, April 8th 2021 Period: 112 Unit 17: HOW MUCH IS THE T-SHIRT? Lesson 1: 1.2 I.Aims: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to ask and answer questions about prices of clothes ( singular). Develop: Speaking and listening skills. Language focus: - Vocabulary: how much, T-shirt, scarf, blouse, jacket, skirt, jumper, thousand. - Structures: How much is the + N(singular)? It’s + number of monkey. Teaching aids: Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. II . Procedures: Warm up: * Have Ss play the game: Chatting about color game. T: What colour is it?. S: It is blue. - Ss to answer. - Read in chorus. - Give the comment. 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Introduce the lesson by saying Look at the pictures and guess what the story is about. - Ask Ps to identify the characters in 4 pictures on page 46 and ask: + Who are they? + Where are they? + And What are they talking about? - T elicits some new words: How much, T-shirt + Teacher read first as a model and ask the Ps to repeat. + Have the Ps repeat in groups and individuals . - Open the tape and have the Ps listen the sound of the words. - Play the recording a few times for pupils to listen and repeat. Correct the pronunciation III. Language focus: - Vocabulary: review - Sentence patterns: - How much is the...? - It’s..... Teaching aids: Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette. Ask them to say the prices aloud. - Play the recording a few times once for pupils to listen all the way through, a second time for them to the task and finally for them to check the answers . Ask them to focus on the price of each item. - Get Ps to swap their answers before checking as a class. Key : a3 b1 c2 4. Look and write : - Tell Ps that they are going to look at the clothes and write the price for each item. - Go through every picture with Ps and ask them to identify the names of the clothing items and their prices. Then have them look at the worked example and write the answers for other pictures. Remind them to mention the colour of each item. - Set a time limit for them to fill the gaps. - Get Ps to swap their answers before checking as a class. - Call on some Ps to report their answers. Others listen and comment. - Have the whole class read each sentence in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation. Let’s play : - Introduce the activity and remind Ss how to play the game Pelmanism. - Prepare some cards with images of clothing items and the matching words for the items. Put Ss in groups of six. Give each group a set of cards. Each group should distribute the cards on the table, face down. A student turns over a pair of cards. If the cards show an image and a word that match with each other, the student takes the cards and continues to turn over another pair of cards. If the cards do not match, they should be turned face down again and the next student should have a go. The student with most cards at the end of the game is the winner. - Have Ss play the game - Give comments III. Look, listen and repeat - Introduce the story by saying Look at the pictures and fine out what Mai wants to buy in the supermarket. - Ask Ps to identify the characters in 4 pictures on page 48 and ask: + Who are they? + Where are they? + And What are they talking about? - Teach some new words: trousers: quần tây sales assistant: người bán hàng + Teacher read first as a model and ask the Ss to repeat + Have the Ps repeat in groups and individuals - Open the tape and have the Ps listen the sound of the words. - Play the recording a few times for pupils to listen and repeat.
